What a drive changes in everyday life.

A rollator with a drive is not a faster rollator. It is one that takes care of the places where the route would otherwise end. That sounds like a small difference, and in everyday life it is the whole difference.

Uphill: you keep going at your own pace

The drive provides assistance as soon as the terrain slopes upwards, taking on the weight of the device. You continue to set the pace, as the sensors detect the incline and adjust the assistance accordingly.

Downhill: nothing runs ahead

On a slope, the drive brakes by itself. The handle stays steady in your hand instead of you having to hold it back. This is the point where most people turn around, and the point where a drive is most clearly felt.

Over the kerb: a button instead of force

At the push of a button, ello helps you over the obstacle. That is how you get over a kerb or a small step. Stairs are out of the question. It’s a question of design, not engine power.

Operation: two controls, set once

On the ello, operation is limited to switching on and off and setting the fitness level once. After that, you concentrate on walking, not on the rollator.

Where a drive is no use

In the hallway and kitchen, it is the turning circle and width that matter, not the drive system. Stairs are ruled out for structural reasons; an lift or a ramp is required instead. And no drive system can compensate for a seat that is too high or too low. The basic dimensions remain the same.

And what if the battery is empty?

Pushing and steering remain completely unaffected, and rolling resistance is virtually unchanged. You can make it home without using the motor. If you regularly walk long distances, you can take a spare battery with you.
